Modification to existing stair handrail.

 A large Logan-based shopping centre required an experienced Gold Coast Metal Fabrication service to modify an existing polished stainless steel stair handrail.

What were the challenges?

• The work involved installing additional handrail to prevent customers from exiting the lower landing off the sides. The metal fabrication work could not be completed during normal trading hours. This made for quite a high-pressure situation because of the restricted time frame.
• The custom nature of the work meant minimal components could be prepared prior to the installation.

How did Davis Welding and Fabrication solve these challenges?   

• The work needed to be performed over two mornings. Starting at 2:30am and finishing at 8:45am before the shop opened at 9:00am.
• All metal welding and fabrication needed to be made in position to suit the existing handrail.

Project result

Although we were under pressure, our flexibility to meet client requirements by working out of hours achieved the required outcome. Our previous experience led to a successful project and a highly satisfied client.
