Food processing conveyor modifications
Client: Food Processing Plant, Brisbane
Project description:
Stainless steel food processing conveyor modifications. A major Brisbane-based food processor engages Davis Welding & Fabrication to handle much of their stainless steel welding and fabrication requirements. We were engaged to modify 15m of conveyor reducing the width from the existing 1020mm wide to 750mm wide for operational reasons.
What were the challenges?
The work needed to be completed over a two day weekend to eliminate operational downtime.
How did Davis Welding and Fabrication solve these challenges?
The task was planned carefully so any components that could be prepared earlier were ready prior to the job taking place. These parts included the drive shafts, the idle shafts, return roller shafts and leg cross braces.
A procedure was written prior to commencement, with tasks allocated to each team member. The procedure was discussed with the team prior to the job starting, so that everyone had a clear understanding of what they needed to do.
Project result
Careful preparation and a clear plan on the day resulted in the job running smoothly and to schedule. The client was surprised how quickly and efficiently the task was completed.
